So Un/Necessary

Not sure how well these make the perfect part, but cutting some slack on precision, some nifty looking combs. Slap a Supreme logo on there and hear the HypeBeast swoons across the globe.

No Pixels

Just trying to develop a new habit of thumbing through the New Yorker, you know, trying to be a new New Yorker. Dope illustrations, lovely style.

Lost in Time

Speaking of cars, I was always a fan of the BMW 2002. About seven years ago one of my cousins thought it was a new-ish car. FML. Not a huge bimmer guy, but I’d make an exception for this or a late 80’s M5.

Lost in Beauty

Can’t wait to get the 3D, turn-by-turn directions of this map when the new iPhone drops.

Afro Punk Fest

Some weird reason (probably because I now regularly charge my iPhone on my iPad charger) my phone died 20 minutes after I left my apartment and I didn’t have my phone to take in the sights and sounds of Afro Punk Fest. If there were an app for it, I prolly woulda taken in the smells too (ganj, grub, and good smelling apothecary). So, I lifted these pics of day two of the event that pretty much surmise my experience (and we all know how predictable Instagram photos can be).

Not All Black and White

It was interesting to me when someone made the comparison to @Oreo‘s almost daily TwitPic to the new “print” ad. It’s easily understood when the concept is viewed, but actually in a place where people are more likely to get their daily reading in modern times. I even started following them and regularly began dunking this American classic into a cold glass of cow juice like a school boy. Good, creamy, chocolatey stuff DraftFCB.

People Puzzles

Series by artist Henrik Olesen, “Life of Alan Turing”. Lovely mixed media series about Alan Turing, a British mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst, and computer scientist. The narrative tells like snippets of an interesting bio-pic I can’t wait to watch. Thank you Droga5 for being the senior sponsor for the ‘Ghosts in the Machine’ at the New Museum.

One of my favorite design elements ever. An ampersand is a logogram representing the conjunction word “and”. This symbol is a ligature of the letters in et, Latin for “and”. It was invented by the Romans in the first century B.C., though didn’t get its strange name until centuries later. In the 1800s, it was the 27th letter of the alphabet: X, Y, Z, &. But the symbol had no name. Ending their ABCs with “and, per se, and” meaning “&, which means ‘and.’”

Baller Games

Not sure what program this was made in, but I mentally spent a couple seconds making it in AfterEffects and gave myself a migraine. Dope.

Trend Snatchers

I think being on pulse is always good and being ahead is better…dangerous, but better. When Guttersnipe did football inspired wear like 5 years ago The Hundreds was doing cherry all-over print. Cool shirts, but probably another hop-on trend for TH. (See “Hawaiian Streetwear”).
